Here is Edward Bear, coming downstairs now, bump, bump, bump, on the back of his head, behind Christopher Robin. It is, as far as he knows, the only way of coming downstairs, but sometimes he feels that there really is another way, if only he could stop bumping for a moment and think of it.
One of the great joys of parenting is discovery. We have tried Winnie the Pooh with Elliot a couple of times to a distinct lack of interest. Until last night.
I had to dig out every board book I could find that we had. I read him all of them twice each. I then had to dig out the Eeyore and Pooh plushes and gave them to him. When he woke up this morning, he had to have a Pooh book read to him again before he went off to creche.
So now I got the Complete Unabridged Winnie the Pooh at lunch, and I think I see a chapter a night for my forseeable future. Isn’t it great?
